This astonishing
24.9-billion-pixel photo really has to be seen to be believed. The
picture, which went viral on Twitter a few days ago, is truly incredible
to see for yourself. Select any part of the photo to zoom in on, and zoom in.
Then zoom in some more. Then some more.

And of course, people looked for other people embarrassing themselves, the most embarrassing of which appears to be this man on a moped picking his nose.
Despite starting
on top of a skyscraper, you'll be able to make out individual blades of grass. Just
a normal panorama of Shanghai. Wait, no, zoom in a little more. BigPixel
The incredible
panorama can
be viewed here, and honestly, we can't stop playing with it. There's no
part of the photo you can't see in ridiculous detail. We aren't the only ones
who can't stop staring at the city. After it went viral, many Twitter users
zoomed in on the photograph to see what they could find.
This has pickled my brain 🧠 A photo captured by 24.9 billion pixel camera in China. You can zoom into absolutely anything. 📸👀https://t.co/k4ItteLDfQ— Marc Barrow (@marcbarrow) December 18, 2018

Thankfully nobody
has, as yet, found an unfortunate couple who hadn't closed their blinds.
Literally spent 10 minutes zooming into windows expecting to see a couple shaggin or something and much to my disappointment there was nothing. Pretty epic camera though tbh.— Daz (@DazWareham) December 20, 2018
The image was
commissioned by the government in Shanghai, and taken by BigPixel, according
to Mashable. Though the team have taken other massive photos of cities
and beaches shot with billions of pixels, the photo of Shanghai is
the first time that they've created a panorama using hundreds of billions of
pixels, and the difference is incredible.
The team have made
several other astonishing (if slightly smaller) panoramas, including an
especially interesting view of North Korea. Other
cities you can gawp at in awe include Shenzhen, Lhasa, and Macao. Prepare to
lose a good week of your time.
